C&O Canal Explorer

The C&O Canal Trust is proud to release a major update to its new C&O Canal Explorer app to help you explore all 184.5 miles of the C&O Canal National Historical Park! The update was released in August 2021.

The mobile app features the following:

?\t600 mapped and searchable points of interest

?\tInteraction with your device’s GPS, so you can see how far you are from points of interest

?\tDriving directions and mileage between points

?\tDetails about historic sites

The update features the following:

?\tAddition of mile markers

?\tAddition of 200 restaurants, hotels, and shops in ten Canal Towns

?\tItinerary builder that allows you to create, save, and share your own C&O Canal adventure

?\tAbility to keep screen on (so it doesn’t power off while riding)

The C&O Canal Explorer app will encourage you to tread new paths and journey to new parts of the Park!

The C&O Canal Trust is the official nonprofit partner of the C&O Canal National Historical Park and works to protect and preserve the Park.
